Maxwell Autumn Open Meet 2007

Over the weekend of the 29th and 30th September a team of 15 determined Bletchley swimmers took part in Maxwell Swimming Club’s Autumn Open Meet at Aqua Vale in Aylesbury.


A massive 45 PB’s were achieved over the weekend with 5 of them from Andy Wadsworth, 8 from Chris Forshaw and 9 from Courtney Dos Santos who gained pbs in all of his races! Courtney also set 8 new club records, along with Chris and Callum Tierney who each broke 3 records.


Sean Ryan won the gold medal for the 17 and over’s 50m breaststroke and also collected himself a silver medal in the 100m breaststroke and 50m butterfly. The 50m breaststroke also saw Luke Ryan picking up the silver medal in the 15-16 age group.


Two Bletchley swimmers who now also swim for Maxwell took part in the gala. They were Sarah Powell who won 3 first places and 2 seconds, and Jonny Quainton who won 4 gold medals.


Pb’s were also achieved by Rebecca Allen, Amy Bass, Nicole Bass, Fatma Nassir, Amy Twigg and Harry Cross who was taking part in his first Open Meet.


Also competing over the weekend were Sam Ainscow, Lucy King and Mohamed Nassir. Bletchley Swimming Club is hosting its Annual General Meeting on Saturday 17th November at Leon School at 6:00.

Bletchley & District Swim Club L3 End of Season Open Meet 2007

Bletchley & District Swimmers produced some excellent performances with 91 swimmers improving on their own personal best records, as well as 15 Club records being broken as well. Bletchley swimmers had an impressive medal count consisting off 32 gold’s, 20 silvers, 23 Bronzes and 14 swims picking up speeding tickets, a fantastic achievement, well done to all.


Top Bletchley & District Boy went to Andy Wadsworth (Aged 14 years) who was placed 4th with 50 points and Top Bletchley Girl was Rebecca Allen (aged 14 years) who was placed 5th with 50 points as well.

South East Region Championships 2007

Two of our younger swimmers attended the Bagcat Championships covering the first 2 weekends in June. Callum Tierney and Courtney Dos Santos represented Bletchley in the 100 & 200 Frontcrawl, and the 100 & 200 Breastroke events.


This was a fantastic achievement for the boys to qualify for these events and they both swam really well, gaining personal best times over these long course events. Our Congratulations go to both of them and we look forward to them continuing to work hard and to represent the club again next year.


Well done to all four of these guys, first swimmers to represent Bletchley at this Regional level and we hope to see them all representing us again next year with some other swimmers too, maybe some girls?


Two of our older swimmers took part in the Regional Youth Championships in Aldershot over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Jonathan Quainton competing in the 50m Backstroke and 50 & 100m Freestyle & Liam Teske competing in the 50 & 100m Freestyle. Both swimmers had excellent long course swims and recorded excellent times in all these events. Congratulations to both these swimmers from all the Club.
