Competitions and Results
It is important that every swimmer is given the opportunity to swim in appropriate competitions, enabling them to develop competitive speed swimming skills. Under the guidance of the club coaches, swimmers will be invited to take part in open meets or Leagues. This invitation will be appropriate to their stage of development to ensure that they swim against other swimmers of equal ability. Competition levels/standards are graded according to swimming times, novice being the slowest through to Level 1 national standard swimmers.

2. Competition Levels
Novice Gala
These are the first galas that swimmers new to competitive swimming would attend. The club holds and attends a number of galas through out the year.
C Grade Gala
This is the next stage in the competitive swimming development but is still based around novice swimmers. Faster entry times and a higher technical swimming ability will be required. The club attends a varity of open meets at this level through out the year.
Licensed Meets
The ASA has four tiers of structured competitions and these are licensed according to the purpose of the competition as shown below. All competition results are included in the British Ranking online data base.
Level 1
is aimed at national qualifiers, or swimmers close to National Qualification, looking for opportunities to achieve National qualifying times. These meets will have qualifying times for entry.
Level 2
is aimed at Regional qualifiers and will have qualifying times and upper limit cut off times.
Level 3
is aimed at Club swimmers who are looking for County qualifying times and again will have qualifying times and upper limit cut off times set to appropriate levels.
Level 4
is intended to cover the Novice/Active Sports development area.

Meet eligibility Reports
A number of the competitions that we attend can have either Not Faster Than times or a minimum qualification time as well as a Not Faster Than time. Selecting one of the links below will take you to a meet eligibility report for that meet, these are updated regularly so swimmers can monitor what they have qualified for.
